“Certain Issues Have Emerged”: Sanosyan Reported to the Prime Minister on Ongoing Road Works

During today’s government meeting, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan responded to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's observation regarding a report presented to him that stated the work was in its final phase, while he had seen something different with his own eyes. Sanosyan noted that the renovation works on the Dilijan bends have been completed, but issues related to the quality of the work have emerged.

“It is stated that the works are in their final phase, but there is the impression that they are already completed because I have passed through there a couple of times, and there are no works ongoing,” said the Prime Minister.

Sanosyan replied that an agreement has been reached with the construction company to make corrections on the completed road. “They know what needs to be corrected, how many kilometers, we are just bringing the funds to the ministry now. They will make the corrections, and we will add several support pillars for safety before we pay the funds,” said Sanosyan.

According to him, certain issues have also emerged on other roads. Sanosyan indicated that those companies have not yet been paid and will only be reimbursed after addressing the deficiencies.

Pashinyan pointed out that the companies should be paid only after the completed construction work is accepted by the government. However, it is also necessary to develop a procedure to prevent such abuses from recurring.

“We must form a proper attitude towards these companies because, although we are demanding that they rectify the deficiencies, the time that we have lost is not accounted for in any pricing calculation. But it is very important,” said Pashinyan.
