“The Minsk Group Has Not Achieved Any Results in 28 Years: It Is Time for Their Retirement” - Aliyev

There is no longer a need for the activities of the OSCE Minsk Group, which has acted as a mediator in the resolution process of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. This statement was made by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

“The Minsk Group, which received its mediator mandate from the OSCE, has not achieved any results in 28 years. Therefore, after Azerbaijan 'resolved' the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the Minsk Group is no longer needed,” said Aliyev during the international forum “Threats to the Global World Order” held in Baku.

According to the authoritarian leader of Azerbaijan, especially in light of the current situation around Ukraine, “everyone realizes the impossibility of a meeting of the three co-chairs of the Minsk Group.”

“We have already received messages that the institution of the Minsk Group co-chairs will not be operational. It is time for them to retire,” announced Aliyev.
