Armenia is the Second Most Preferred Destination for Russians
Armenia has become the second most popular destination for Russian tourists planning to travel during the June holidays. This was reported by the press service of Aviasales, a ticket search and purchasing service, to RIA Novosti.
The service noted that 2.6% of travelers are expected to arrive in Armenia over the upcoming holiday period, having paid an average of 180,000 AMD for round-trip airfare. Traditionally, Turkey ranks first, accounting for four percent of all purchases with an average ticket price of 285,000 AMD. Kazakhstan follows, with 1.2% of all tickets costing an average of 200,000 AMD.
“This year, Russian tourists are increasingly paying attention to neighboring countries, which were previously mainly visited for non-traditional purposes. Thus, users from Russia are searching for what to see and where to go in Kazakhstan and Armenia almost as frequently as they do in Turkey,” the service stated.
