Remains of About 86 Soldiers Still in Morgues
The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that in 2021, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, addressing the casualties and the missing from the 44-day war in the National Assembly, stated, "As of today, we have identified 100 bodies that have been confirmed by their relatives, but for various reasons, the relatives refuse to accept this fact, which is understandable. Many of our compatriots believe that their loved ones are alive."
He also noted that there are families who do not trust DNA testing and are organizing DNA tests abroad at their own expense.
So what do we have one year and two months after the Prime Minister's statement? According to exclusive information from "Zhoghovurd," about 86 soldiers' remains are still in the morgues of Metsamor and Hrazdan, and relatives refuse to accept that these could be their children. This means that nearly two years after the war, the situation has not changed, and the proposal to establish a brotherly cemetery for many soldiers remains in limbo.
