US to Continue Limiting Russia's Influence in the UN

The United States will explore the possibility of reforming the United Nations Security Council to limit Russia's influence amid the ongoing events in Ukraine. This was announced by Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the U.S. permanent representative to the UN.

“We have embarked on discussions regarding the reforms that can be implemented to limit the influence of countries such as Russia in the UN Security Council,” she stated, responding to a question about whether the U.S. could change anything regarding Russia's actions at the UN.

Thomas-Greenfield noted that the U.S. will focus on this issue in the “upcoming years.” According to her, Russia has already been “isolated in the UN Security Council.”
