Renovation of the Mother Cathedral Approaches Completion

The renovation works of the Mother Cathedral are gradually approaching completion. Currently, construction is ongoing in the museum section, where frescoes are being reinstalled and the courtyard pavement is being laid out.

It is important to note that since 2011, restoration, research, and design works have been underway for the Mother Cathedral of St. Ejmiatsin. In 2013, the project for the restoration and reinforcement of the Mother Cathedral was agreed upon with UNESCO. A scientific research center for the restoration of frescoes began studying the cathedral's murals. In the summer of 2017, the construction works for the renovation commenced.
