If Artsakh Does Not Exist, the Geopolitical Landscape of the South Caucasus Will Change Radically — Babayan

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh, Davit Babayan, wrote on his Facebook page: "Artsakh, its existence, is a crucial factor in maintaining regional and even global geopolitical balance. If Artsakh does not exist, the geopolitical landscape of the South Caucasus will change radically, and subsequently, the surrounding areas as well, after which it will become virtually impossible to maintain geopolitical balance through traditional means (such as the system of geopolitical counterweights, etc.). This could lead to open, harsh, and direct confrontation of power centers.

What might happen when it is impossible to maintain geopolitical balance through traditional means, and when major global and regional powers are openly opposing each other? I believe the answer is quite simple: the world could even find itself on the brink of nuclear war."
