Explosion Occurs at Auto Service Point in Nor Nork

On May 31, an emergency incident occurred in Yerevan. At around 12:40 PM, the Ministry of Emergency Situations received a report that an explosion took place at an auto service point in the rear of building 20 on A. Hovhannisyan Street, located in the 4th block of the Nor Nork administrative district.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, two fire crews from the number 9 fire and rescue squad arrived promptly. It was found that the explosion was caused by a malfunction in electrical wires, leading to a fire outbreak.

Before the firefighters arrived, local forces managed to extinguish the fire, and rescuers evacuated a woman who was trapped in the elevator of building 16 next door due to the explosion.

An emergency medical team from Yerevan 1-03 also arrived on site to provide first aid to the auto service worker, 44-year-old Edgar Z.

The cause of the explosion and fire is currently under investigation.
