Lithuanians Raise Funds to Donate Bayraktar to Ukraine
On Saturday, Laisvės TV raised the necessary €5 million to purchase a Bayraktar drone, which will be donated to Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. “Now we can definitely celebrate,” said campaign organizer and journalist Andrius Tapinas during a live broadcast. He also expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed and donated funds for this purpose.
In total, more than €5 million and 55,800 have been raised, and the amount is still increasing. The campaign organizers managed to collect this amount in just a day and a half.
Laisvės TV promises to transfer the funds to the Ministry of Defense, with representatives set to travel to Turkey next week to negotiate and sign a memorandum of intent. Ukraine has been fighting against Russian forces for over three months but is facing a shortage of weapons and is calling on Western countries for support as much as possible.
