Ishkhan Saghatelyan Presents Monday's Plans
“This is a new Artsakh movement; today's gathering at the Renaissance Square in Artsakh, along with similar gatherings in the Diaspora, is vivid proof of this,” stated Ishkhan Saghatelyan, Vice President of the National Assembly, MP from the ‘Armenia’ faction, and one of the organizers of the Resistance Movement, during a press conference at France Square while discussing the popular struggle.
The opposition figure outlined the upcoming actions in the fight. He mentioned that, as previously stated, the parliamentary opposition's published statement is at the core of the agenda, containing the principles and conditions under which Armenia's relations with Azerbaijan and Turkey can be established.
On the agenda of the extraordinary session of the National Assembly on June 3 is the issue of signing that statement. Saghatelyan emphasized that all positions need to be clarified; all state institutions and civil society organizations should express a clear stance regarding the statement.
To this end, work will be carried out from Monday to Friday. “From Monday to Friday, we need to double our efforts and unite more. We will go door to door; everyone should express their position. The situation is critical; anyone against the document is against the people. Starting from Monday at 11 AM, we invite all of you to the square; we will proceed in several directions, visiting several addresses. Everyone has a turn: MPs from the Civil Contract faction, many of whom have fallen into the hands of madness, as well as government members and others, will have to answer. We need to understand who is who. Who is against the people, who is for the people. We have five days to get the complete picture. I reiterate; June 3 is a watershed moment,” Saghatelyan stated.
He added that after the five decisive days, on June 3, they will be in the National Assembly, and further actions will be determined that day. “We are the guardians of our homeland, we are the guardians of Artsakh,” Saghatelyan emphasized.
