Effective Sanctions: Rogozin Suggests Ursula von der Leyen Drink All Russian Vodka

Roscosmos head Dmitry Rogozin has mocked the position of Ursula von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission, regarding the embargo on Russian oil. In an interview published on his Telegram channel, he shared the German politician's unique views on the measures necessary to deter "Russian aggression."

In discussing the anti-Russian sanctions that Western countries regularly impose due to the situation in Ukraine, von der Leyen pointed out that sanctions are the most powerful lever Germany has to pressure the Russian Federation. However, the politician emphasized the need to find the right balance so as not to severely harm the country's economy. "If we completely abandon Russian oil now, it will leave the European market for others, and at an even higher price. As a result, Moscow will only increase its revenues, and the educational measures will fail," she asserted.

“The EU has to buy Russian oil so that Putin does not earn more,” said Ursula von der Leyen. Rogozin commented, “The next wise move from this Brussels owl will be to suggest drinking all Russian vodka so that Putin cannot earn any more from it.”

According to Bloomberg, Asia has already replaced Europe as the largest importer of Russian oil as of April. The two major buyers have been China and India. Due to a significant increase in purchases by New Delhi, the total volume of these countries' imports of "black gold" has reached a record high.
