The West Incites Conflict Among Former USSR Nations, Says Lavrov

Western countries are not abandoning their attempts to incite conflict among the peoples who were once part of the USSR, doing so by distorting history, stated Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

“The West does not cease trying to create disputes among the peoples that were part of the USSR by deliberately distorting and misinterpreting historical facts,” he said.

According to Lavrov, the German government has adopted a policy of rewriting the history of World War II and covering up the crimes of the Third Reich.

“Recently, the German government approved the concept of the so-called documentary center ‘World War II and German Occupation in Europe.’ This concept raises serious questions regarding its compliance with historical facts at first glance. The center's activities are expected not only to diminish the Soviet Union's and all its peoples' contributions to the fight against German fascism, but also to conceal the crimes committed by the Third Reich against the peoples of the Soviet Union,” Lavrov stated.
