Ararat Mirzoyan Arrives 30 Minutes Late to Meeting with US Senator Menendez

International relations expert Suren Sargsyan has provided details about the visit of Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan to the United States.

“In Washington, Ararat Mirzoyan was roughly 30 minutes late for his meeting with US Senator Menendez. Another senator, Republican Rich, who was also supposed to attend the meeting, became frustrated after waiting for 20 minutes and desired to leave; however, he was urged to wait a little longer. The senators were annoyed not only by the tardiness but also by the fact that no reasonable explanation was offered for the delay. A person of Menendez's caliber and a great friend of Armenians is not kept waiting even by Biden. I wouldn’t be surprised if the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee no longer wants to engage with Armenian delegations,” Sargsyan wrote.

“By the way, this is not the first scandal related to Menendez. In 2020, MP Makunts requested an urgent meeting with Menendez, but as community media later reported, the sole purpose of the meeting was to take a joint photo.”
