Truck Loaded with Several Tons of Sand Overturns, Driver in Critical Condition
On May 23, a major traffic accident occurred in the Syunik province. Around 05:30, 39-year-old Andranik Vardanyan lost control of his Scania brand truck while traveling on the Kajaran-Meghri highway, entering a 20 km segment of the road under still unknown circumstances. The vehicle overturned multiple times and ended up in a ravine, reports shamshyan.com.
According to sources, the driver was rescued from the vehicle by firefighters from the Emergency Situations Ministry’s number 58 rescue unit and was transported with severe injuries to the 'Kajaran' medical center. After receiving necessary medical treatment, he was transferred to the Kapan medical center.
It was reported that the truck was loaded with several tons of sand.
The information about the accident was communicated to the Kajaran division of the police by Yervand Aleksanyan, the duty officer at the 1-77 operational management center, from where an investigative team arrived under the leadership of the day’s responsible officer.
