Police Report on Brutal Murder in Gyumri
On May 22, at 22:27, the police received a report from the emergency services regarding a stabbing incident in the 58th district of Gyumri, near a church, according to the Armenian police.
A team dispatched to the scene discovered the body of 42-year-old Siranush Manukyan in one of the apartments on Paruyr Sevak Street, with stab wounds to the abdomen and jaw.
Through operational and investigative measures, including inquiries conducted in the area, it was determined that the injuries had been inflicted by the woman's husband. He was located and taken into custody at the Mush police station. A personal search revealed a knife, which preliminary findings suggest was the weapon used in the crime.
The 49-year-old man has been presented to the preliminary investigation body. A criminal case has been initiated on charges of murder. The man has been arrested. Circumstances surrounding the incident, including the motive, are being clarified during the investigation.
