White House Still Does Not Confirm Reports of Western Arms Destruction in Ukraine

Jake Sullivan, the U.S. President's National Security Advisor, has been unable to confirm the Russian Defense Ministry's information regarding the destruction of a large batch of weapons and military equipment supplied from the U.S. and the EU to Ukraine.

“I haven’t had the opportunity to consult with the Ukrainian side,” Sullivan told reporters on Sunday aboard an airplane flying from South Korea to Japan. “However, we, from our perspective, have different and sustainable ways to supply such weapons to Ukraine.”

Sullivan's briefing was broadcast on the White House website. It’s noteworthy that today U.S. President Joe Biden concluded his visit to South Korea and departed for Japan.

“Even if the Russian side can strike the cargo in Ukrainian territory, it will not significantly disrupt our provision of military assistance to Kyiv from a strategic standpoint,” Sullivan said.

Recall that on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in Ukraine in response to a request for assistance from the leaders of the Donbas republics. He emphasized that Moscow's plans do not include the occupation of Ukrainian territories; the goal is to demilitarize and denazify the country.
