Parents and Relatives of the Fallen Meet with Arghishti Kyaramyan; No Specific Deadlines Provided - 5165 Movement
On May 20, parents and relatives of soldiers who died in the 44-day war met with the head of the RA Investigative Committee, Arghishti Kyaramyan. This was reported on the Facebook page of the 5165 movement.
The agenda of the meeting was focused on why the investigative committee's investigators are not carrying out investigative actions and have not questioned Nikol Pashinyan, even though there is an instruction from the prosecutor in this case. After a meeting that lasted several hours, the parents announced that Kyaramyan assured them that an investigation into the case will be conducted as soon as possible. However, the relatives of the fallen soldiers were interested in what specific deadlines were being discussed.
The mother of the fallen Artsakh hero Menua Hovhannisyan, Karin Tonoyan, noted: “Our demand is to understand when they will question Nikol Pashinyan; we did not receive an answer, only that the case has just been transferred to the Investigative Committee, and they cannot say how long their reasonable time is. We persistently asked them to provide an approximate timeframe, but we did not receive any response regarding a reasonable deadline.”
Members of the consolidation movement were also present there in support of the parents of the fallen soldiers. Menua Soghomonyan stated that he and the relatives of the fallen soldiers are in agreement: “We interpret this as the requirement that the questioning should be conducted or not conducted under the instruction of the head of the Investigative Committee. When the prosecutor provides the instruction, an investigation must be carried out by the force of law; therefore, what is the reason for the delay?”
