Ukrainian Armed Forces Brigade Commander Volyn Leaves Azovstal and Surrenders

Ukrainian Armed Forces 36th Marine Brigade commander Sergey Volynsky, known as Volyn, has left the territory of the Azovstal factory in Mariupol to surrender. This was reported by First Channel correspondent Irina Kuksenkova on her Telegram channel. The news outlet lenta.ru has further details.

According to her, Volynsky left the factory without the deputy commander of the Azov Regiment, Svyatoslav Palamar, known as Kalyna. “The sea breeze lightly ruffled his beard, he looked almost fresh, handed over his weapons, had his belongings checked, and overall underwent standard procedures until reaching the bus,” the reporter shared the details of the surrender.

She also noted that the process of “evacuating prisoners” is proceeding according to plan. Previously, the commander of the Ukrainian marine infantry had addressed Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. He proposed not only evacuating the Ukrainian military trapped in Azovstal from Mariupol but also ensuring their safety at the final destination in Turkey. It should be noted that the Ukrainian side has yet to make any official statements.
