Mamikjanyan: They Did Not Give Us the Mandate to Discuss Revocation of It
From the very first day of the movement, except for 1-2 days, there has been a steady increase in the number of participants. Each action must be compared with the relevant action, that is, the awareness march with the awareness march, the end-of-day march with the end-of-day march, the rally with the rally. This was stated by the Deputy of the 'I Have Honor' faction of the National Assembly, Hayk Mamikjanyan, during a conversation with journalists on May 19 at the New Resistance’s civil disobedience march.
Commenting on the absences of opposition members in the National Assembly and the intention of the authorities to discuss the issue of revoking mandates from opposition deputies based on those absences at the end of the session, Mamikjanyan said: 'First of all, they did not give us that mandate to discuss its revocation. That mandate was given to us by the people, this very people. When talking about absences, it is very important to note that they are the ones absent from the real political process. We are alongside our voters, our compatriots, and the real political process is happening right in the streets. The mandate was given to us by the people, and we are implementing that mandate in the direction we received it—to remove the capitulator and restore the dignity of our country.'
