Narcotics Discovered in Candies Delivered to Prison
On April 14, at approximately 16:35, operatives from the Armenian Ministry of Justice's "Artik" correctional institution conducted a search of a package delivered by citizen E. M. to an inmate, acting on received information. This was reported by the Penitentiary Service.
As a result, they noticed that the factory packaging of five candies in the package had been tampered with, and two of them contained suspicious substances. Continuing to act on the operational data received, on the same day, officers from both the "Artik" correctional institution and the Shirak regional department of the Armenian Police inspected the vehicle that transported citizen E. M. to the facility, discovering plastic tubes, a greenish liquid dropper with blackened stains on the walls, and two electrical glass lamps without back parts, which had dark brown stains on them.
According to the forensic examination results received on May 14, traces of narcotics were found on one of the plastic tubes and the lamps. The examination also revealed that two of the candies in the package contained a large amount of narcotic weighing 0.189 grams. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident at the Armenian Ministry of Justice's "Artik" prison.
