Fire Erupts in Apartment Rented by Returned Prisoner in Metsamor
This morning, a fire broke out in the apartment rented by Khachik Grigoryan, a returned prisoner. His wife, Irina, shared the details with NEWS.am.
“It was 7 AM, my husband shouted very loudly, ‘Ira, hurry, gather the kids, get out!’ When I asked what happened, he replied that the house was on fire. We then took the kids and managed to escape just in time; the entire house almost burned down. The fire spread quickly, damaging our belongings, electronics, and clothes. Only my newborn’s clothes are left in the living room,” she recounted.
Irina is currently staying at her sister's apartment with her three young children, unsure of where they will go next. “My youngest is only 30 days old. We are at my sister’s place, but they also rent, and we can't stay long. I don’t know what we will do. One thing is for sure, we are left on the streets. At least my children are fine, but my son is extremely stressed, constantly saying the house was on fire,” she added.
According to Irina, the fire started from the balcony, likely due to old electrical wiring and possibly a short circuit. It is worth noting that Khachik Grigoryan voluntarily went to war, spent 34 days in captivity, and has been struggling with psychological issues since his return, making it difficult for him to work.
