Body of Olga Sanikova Found in Karkar River

The body of Olga Sanikova has been found in the Karkar River. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Artsakh, which has been searching for the Russian woman for several days.

“As a result of the relevant search operations carried out by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh, the Askeran District Division, the rapid response unit of the State Emergency Service, and employees of the National Security Service, the body of Olga Sanikova was discovered today at 12:30 PM in the Karkar River in Stepanakert. A forensic examination has been appointed. The investigation is being conducted by the Stepanakert Police Department,” the statement reads.

It is noted that O. Sanikova had gone missing in the Karkar River on May 9. The report was received by the duty station on May 10, after which search and rescue operations had begun.
