Court Rejects Request to Detain Traffic Police Major
The court has rejected the request to detain the traffic police major who was involved in a fatal accident with a pregnant woman in Yerevan, based on the instructions of the city prosecutor. This was reported by Shamshyan.com.
The request suggested that the court impose a two-month detention on Aram Navasarayan, a major in the traffic police escorting the Prime Minister, for causing the death of the pregnant pedestrian, Sona Mnatsakanyan, at the intersection of Paronyan and Leo streets on April 26.
According to the site, after conducting a closed court session, the judge moved to the deliberation room to make a decision. Upon returning from the deliberation room, the judge denied the detention request, leaving the investigator's decision unchanged.
