Tragic Incident in Gegharkunik Region: 38-Year-Old Shepherd Dies from Lightning Strike in Inner Shorja Village

On May 6th, a tragic incident occurred in the Gegharkunik region. At around 18:20, the Vardenis police received a report from the Vardenis Medical Center that a medical team had been dispatched to Inner Shorja village, where a citizen's body had been discovered.

According to Shamshyan.com, police and investigators have determined that the deceased was 38-year-old Suren Zohrebiyan, a resident of the nearby village of Shatvan. His body was found in a field about 1 kilometer away from Inner Shorja village by a local resident, 40-year-old Ara Hakobyan. It was revealed that S. Zohrebiyan died from a lightning strike.

Authorities at the scene, led by senior investigator Ziroyan from the Vardenis investigative department, are conducting an investigation. An autopsy has been ordered by the investigator, and according to the initial conclusions of the forensic expert, no signs of violence were found on the body. According to information from G. Shamshyan, the deceased was a shepherd.
