6 Magnitude Earthquake Recorded in Armenia and Georgia
An earthquake has been registered in Armenia. On May 1, at 23:35 local time (19:35 GMT), the National Emergency Situations Service's seismic monitoring network recorded a quake in the border area between Georgia and Armenia, approximately 13 km northeast of the village of Bavra, at a depth of 14 km. The earthquake had a magnitude of 4.6.
The intensity of the tremor in the epicentral zone reached 6 on the Richter scale. The earthquake was felt in the Shirak and Lori provinces at a magnitude of 5, in Tavush province at 3-4, and also in Yerevan, Kotayk, and Aragatsotn provinces at an intensity of 3.
According to Georgian media reports, the tremors were also felt in the capital, Tbilisi.
