Tragic Car Accident Near Nor Hajn Bridge Involves BMW and Mitsubishi Pajero: Casualties Reported

Today, on May 12, a major and tragic car accident occurred in the Kotayk region. At approximately 18:30, vehicles of BMW and Mitsubishi Pajero models collided at the beginning of the Nor Hajn bridge along the Abovyan-Nor Hajn highway.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan reporting from the scene, one person died at the site, and four others, two of whom were in extremely critical condition, were transported to the Abovyan medical center. Bystanders and firefighters from the Emergency Situations Ministry’s Fire Rescue Unit No. 45 were the first to assist the injured.

The doctors' on-duty groups also acted swiftly, providing first aid to the injured before their transfer to the hospital. The deceased was retrieved from the vehicle by rescuers.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. While the investigative team was working at the scene, the hospital reported that two of the injured had died without regaining consciousness.
