Resident Dies in Garavah from Lightning Strike

On May 12, around 14:30-15:00, a resident of Garavah city, 74-year-old Rafik Koghpetzyan, died instantly from a lightning strike in a field known as "Manucharner." According to Rafik Koghpetzyan's relatives, he was engaged in animal husbandry and was grazing his livestock in the field at the time of the strike.

"Rafik was riding a horse when the lightning struck, taking the lives of both the owner and the horse. Rafik's body has now been sent for forensic examination. He had five children, all of them adults. He was a very hardworking and decent man," his relatives shared.

It is worth noting that just six days prior, a 38-year-old resident, Suren Zohrabyan, also died from a lightning strike in the village of Shatvan of Gegharkunik Province.
