Questions That Troubled Most After the Tragic Accident: 'Hayastani Zhamanak'
'Hayastani Zhamanak' newspaper reports: The circumstances surrounding the death of a young woman will hopefully be clarified through a comprehensive and just investigation, although it is evident that no matter the judgment, it cannot alleviate the grief of the relatives.
At the moment of the accident (based on videos circulating online), the deceased woman appears confused, unsure of what to do, and becomes a victim of a tragic collision. How did the police respond? How were citizens' safety ensured? What signal did they send to the passersby on the street or sidewalk at that time? These are the questions that most disturb the thinking segment of society shocked by the incident.
Most human rights defenders, for instance, do not have hope that a fair investigation will be conducted, and all the details of the case will be revealed. This judgment might be somewhat justified, as the 'revolutionaries' who promised changes in the police system back in 2018 are now using violence against peaceful protesters, and essentially, creating circumstances that led to the accident of a young pregnant woman for the sake of government 'motorcades' to pass unimpeded.
Since 2018, the only change in the police system has been the establishment of the 'patrol officers' institution. No matter how much the current authorities try to present it in a positive light, it still fails, because one who lacks even a secondary education cannot maintain order, law, be capable enough physically, or possess the tact and ethics needed for effective communication.
