Police Issues Statement Ahead of April 24 Events

During the events dedicated to the memory of the victims of the genocide, the police will fully carry out its functions aimed at ensuring public order. This was stated in a message released by the Police of the Republic of Armenia.

"The safety of our citizens and guests will be ensured both during the marches to Tsitsernakaberd and at the events taking place in the memorial complex. At the same time, we expect the support of our fellow citizens and urge them to refrain from attempts to overshadow the day with actions that are inconsistent with the solemnity of the memory of the martyrs. The police have all the means to prevent manifestations that insult our identity and historical memory. On April 24, let us present ourselves to the world as an ancient and dignified people, who sacredly keeps the memory of its ancestors and rises above the temptation to exploit the collective pain for private purposes," the message reads.
