Chemical Attack on Russian Positions in Ukraine via Drone
The Russian Ministry of Defense has reported a drone attack on the positions of Russian troops in Ukraine using toxic substances. This was announced on Saturday by the head of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense Forces of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Igor Kirilov, as reported by TASS.
“On April 21, 2022, a container with ampoules was dropped from a drone on the positions of Russian troops, intended to initiate a chemical reaction upon destruction that would result in an explosion and fire, releasing toxic substances,” he stated.
According to him, a chemical analysis of the ampoule contents is being conducted at the laboratory of the 27th Scientific Center of the Russian Ministry of Defense, accredited by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. The results of the analysis will be forwarded to his technical secretary in due time.
He noted that earlier, Ukraine had sent an inquiry to the manufacturing company regarding the possibility of equipping Bayraktar drones with aerosol devices and that on March 9, reconnaissance units of Russian troops had discovered three drones equipped with containers of 30 liters capacity and formulations intended for spraying.
