The Tragedy in Donbass Forced Russia to Begin Special Military Operations, Says Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed confidence that peace will be established in Donbass thanks to Russia, TASS reports.

“This will indeed be the case,” Putin stated during a council meeting of the platform “Russia – Land of Opportunities” in response to a participant's desire for peace.

Speaking about the special military operation, the state leader assured that the Russian Federation will act consistently and reach a situation where life in Donbass will gradually return to normal.

Putin also noted that the tragedy that occurred in Donbass compelled Russia to initiate a special military operation in Ukraine. “It was the tragedy in Donbass, including in the Lugansk People’s Republic, that simply forced Russia to start this military operation, about which everyone is well aware today,” the president stated.
