Providing a Personal Doctor to the President of the National Assembly: NSS Proposes a Program
The National Security Service has submitted a draft amendment to the law on "Ensuring the Security of Individuals Subject to Special State Protection" to the unified platform for the publication of legal acts.
The draft proposes to provide a personal doctor not only for the President and Prime Minister but also for the President of the National Assembly.
"Considering the fact that currently, by law, a personal doctor is assigned to monitor the health status of the President and Prime Minister, while, in an unclear logic, such a guarantee is not provided for the head of the highest representative body, namely, the President of the National Assembly, it is proposed to expand the scope of this guarantee (it is stipulated that the mentioned officials and their family members (spouse, child, parent) are provided medical assistance and services in medical organizations operating in the Republic of Armenia at the expense of the state budget, under the procedure established by the Government) and extend it to the President of the National Assembly as well," the justification of the draft states.
According to the NSS, the expansion of this guarantee is due to the special role these officials play in the system of state power, as well as the fact that currently, these officials benefit from state protection by law, and maintaining their health is also somewhat interconnected with security.
