VIDEO: It’s a Myth that Sargsyan Negotiated to Delay the War, Says Aleksanyan

During a parliamentary briefing, a journalist quoted an excerpt from the ruling 'Civil Contract' faction's electoral program, stating that 'the people of Artsakh cannot survive under Azerbaijani control.'

'You often say that you have a mandate from the people for your actions; I would like to ask you to explain this against the backdrop of the statements made in the last two days in the National Assembly,' the journalist said, addressing the members of the ruling faction.

Ruling faction MP Vahagn Aleksanyan clarified that their position is that the guarantees for the freedom, rights, and security of the people of Artsakh must first be discussed, which will lead to the question of Artsakh's status.

'We are now talking about ensuring international consolidation around the rights and security guarantees of the people of Artsakh, and the status should already follow from those guarantees and the international consolidation around that. In the past, we followed a path that implied declaring a status and not discussing all this, because the status itself was a red line for the international community, which has not understood what we are talking about. In other words, the red line we have established regarding the status of Artsakh has not been understood by the international community. Now we are saying let's discuss the rights of the people of Artsakh, guarantees of security, and from that, the status will depend on the freedom, rights, and guarantees of security for the people of Artsakh,' said Aleksanyan.

Aleksanyan also addressed the issue of what Serzh Sargsyan had negotiated about. For more details, watch the video.
