Times New Roman, Arial, Verdana, Tahoma and Helvetica Fonts Blocked for Russian Users

The American company Monotype, which owns the rights to the Times New Roman, Arial, Verdana, Tahoma, and Helvetica fonts, has blocked access to its site’s library for Russian users. This information was reported by Vedomosti.

A source from one of the Russian IT companies revealed the news to the media. It is noted that Monotype is accessible in Russia, but when Russian users attempt to open the page containing the font catalog, they see a message indicating that access is restricted.

“The website owner may impose restrictions that prevent access to the site,” the message states. However, when using a VPN service, the page opens, and users gain access to the fonts upon registering on the platform.
