Video: 'I Want to Confess That I Am Guilty,' Says Pashinyan
The number of casualties in the 44-day war has reached 3,825 as of today, with the majority of the bodies identified through DNA testing and buried. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during the government’s performance report in the National Assembly.
"From the very beginning, I have accepted my guilt and responsibility for both the war and the defeat, but I do not accept and will not accept the accusations that the opposition has directed at me since November 9, 2020, accusing me of giving up lands and treason. At first glance, this may seem absurd when you accept guilt but reject the accusation. Perhaps in all realms of political and moral discourse, the moment has matured for this dichotomy to be resolved. If I am to be objectively accused, it should not be for giving up lands but for not giving them up; I now want to confess that it is possible, and yes, I am guilty of that," said Nikol Pashinyan. According to him, transferring land could have saved thousands of lives, and by not doing so, he has effectively become the author of decisions that led to thousands of casualties.
