Video: Group's Illegal Departure to the USA Prevented

The Criminal Police have taken measures in cooperation with the regional security service of the U.S. Embassy in Armenia regarding the organization of illegal migration. This was reported by the Armenian police.

On April 12, a group of individuals was summoned to the main department of the Criminal Police from near the U.S. Embassy. Law enforcement had already established that these individuals were not members of any organization engaged in boating; however, the federation president, a 35-year-old man registered in the Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan, had promised them that he would arrange their departure to the United States for profit.

For this purpose, the federation president had taken between $1,500 and $8,000 from them, according to preliminary information. The reason for their travel was to participate in a training camp to be held in Florida from April 18 to 28.

It was also revealed that the president of the organization had falsely registered the summoned individuals as members and employees of the organization with outdated dates. He additionally organized the submission of documents to the embassy in their names.

The U.S. Embassy denied the issuance of visas due to the submission of false documents. The circumstances are being clarified through investigation.
