Armenian Shooters Win Two More Gold Medals at European Championship
The Armenian shooting team continues to impress at the European Championship taking place in the city of Hamars, Norway, from March 20-29. According to the information provided by the Armenian Shooting Federation, in the junior category for men’s 10m, running target, normal pace, 30+30 shots, Gor Khachatryan scored 571 points and was crowned champion.
In the same event for girls, Gohar Harutyunyan won the gold medal by hitting 556 points. Elmir Karapetyan also showed a strong performance in the women’s category, where she narrowly missed reaching the finals, finishing 9th with 573 points after scoring just one point less than required (air pistol, 10m, 60 shots).
On March 24, Lilith Mkrtchyan from the Yerevan youth sports school (personal coach Armenak Galoyan) won the women's competition in the 10m, running target, normal pace, 30+30 shots, scoring 561 points and becoming champion. In the same event, Arusyak Grigoryan from the Gyumri sports school scored 557 points, securing the runner-up position.
