Slavik Galstyan and Gevorg Gharibyan Reach Semifinals of European Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship
2020 European champion Gevorg Gharibyan secured victory in his opening match with a score of 7:0 against Abdulhamad Papi from Germany. In the quarterfinals, the Armenian wrestler overcame Georgian Pridon Abuladze with a narrow 3:2 victory in a tough and intense bout. In the semifinals, Gharibyan will face Edmond Nazaryan, the son of Olympic double champion Armen Nazaryan, who also won the European championship title in 2020 but in the lower 55 kg weight category.
In the 67 kg weight category, Armenia's Slavik Galstyan triumphed in his Round of 16 match, defeating French Roger Clement with a score of 5:0. In the quarterfinals, Galstyan demonstrated clear superiority, winning 9:0 against Norwegian Morten Toresen. In the semifinals, Galstyan will compete against Hungarian Kristyan Vanca.
