Armenian Snowboarder Wins Gold Medal at Paralympic Games

Lusine Karapetyan, representing Armenia, has won the snowboard competition at the ongoing international Paralympic Games titled “We Are Together. Sport” in Khanty-Mansiysk. This information was reported by the Armenian National Paralympic Committee.

Karapetyan told reporters that the games in Khanty-Mansiysk have been among the most serious competitions of her career, and she is currently enjoying the bliss of victory. “The track here is quite difficult; we haven’t skied on such paths much yet,” she said. “This was one of the most serious competitions for me, and I won a medal right away. I am filled with bright emotions now.”

She revealed that she learned about her participation just three days before the competition. “I was in shock. But we were welcomed here with great joy. Khanty-Mansiysk is a beautiful city with warm people. We have a very supportive team, like a family, and we all care for each other. I used to ski before, then I tried snowboarding, and I liked it. It’s a completely new feeling; you enjoy every flake of snow and every mountain,” she added.

Representatives from Armenia, Belarus, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan are also participating in the games.
