Video: Prostitution Operates in Rental Apartments in Armenia

Through extensive operational-intelligence measures undertaken by the police's main office and the Yerevan city administration, and within the framework of a criminal case being investigated by the Investigative Committee regarding facilitating prostitution, data has been obtained concerning the promotion of prostitution by an organized group in Armenia.

With the coordination of the Prosecutor General's Office, joint efforts by the police and Investigative Committee officials led to the confirmation of the data, resulting in more than ten searches. Women engaged in prostitution were found, along with numerous pieces of evidence supporting the crime and particularly large sums of money.

It has been revealed that an international organized group had recruited foreign women mainly through online methods and offered them opportunities to engage in prostitution in various countries, including Armenia, promising to provide clients, accommodation, and other necessary conditions for their activities, in exchange for demanding half of the earnings they made from prostitution.

Included in this organized group were also individuals who provided rental apartments mainly in newly constructed buildings located in the city center of Yerevan, taking on the responsibility of ensuring housing for the purpose of prostitution.

Three individuals have been arrested within the framework of the criminal case. The investigation is ongoing.
