Video: Camera Captures Moment of Tragic Accident That Claimed Lives of 5 Family Members

Shamshyan.com presents a video showing how on February 20, a tragic and major car accident occurred at the beginning of Abovyan city in the Kotayk region, on Arznu highway, resulting in the death of five family members on the spot. A minor was transported to the hospital with a severe diagnosis.

According to the website's information, a criminal case has been initiated, and a 29-year-old resident of Byureghavan, Razmik Davtyan, has been arrested. His father attempted to mislead the police and investigators, claiming he had been the driver.

As previously reported by a photojournalist from the scene, the major accident occurred on February 20 in the Kotayk region. Around 8:00 PM, a serious collision took place on the Arznu highway in front of the Anti-Tuberculosis Dispensary, involving BMW X5, Opel, and VAZ-2106 vehicles.

As a result of the accident, five individuals died on the spot, whose bodies were removed from the vehicle by rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ specialized rescue unit No. 18, led by Commander Karen Avetisyan.

Moments ago, the photojournalist reported that police from Kotayk and investigators have determined that the driver of vehicle 06 was 46-year-old Vachagan Petrosyan, a resident of Charentsavan. Among the passengers were 40-year-old Arpine Petrosyan, 17-year-old Vahe Petrosyan, 65-year-old Gyulnara Petrosyan, and 34-year-old Meline Gasparyan, a resident of Byureghavan. The latter were all killed on the spot, while another passenger, 15-year-old Vanuhi Petrosyan, was transported in ‘extremely serious’ condition to Abovyan Medical Center, and then transferred to Yerevan's Surb Astvatsamayr Medical Center.

The photojournalist reports that the deceased were family members. It has been revealed that the Opel was driven by 60-year-old Valishan Karapetyan, a resident of Byureghavan, and shortly after the accident, 53-year-old Samson Davtyan, a Byureghavan resident, presented himself to the police, claiming he had been driving the BMW X5.
