Russian Aircraft Engine Catches Fire Before Takeoff

On Friday, March 18, in Sochi, the engine of an aircraft preparing for departure caught fire. This was reported by TASS, citing the press service of the international airport.

The Russian Nordwind airline's plane was scheduled to take off on the Sochi-Orenburg route; however, the flight was delayed due to the engine fire. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. Passengers were disembarked and returned to the terminal, where they were provided with hot meals and water.

It was noted that at 7:21 AM Moscow time, the airline's clients were sent to Orenburg on a backup flight.
