Tensions Escalate in Kharamort Overnight, Some Families Temporarily Evacuate Children
Tensions have escalated in the Kharamort community of the Askeran region overnight. The enemy has periodically shelled the fields surrounding the village with mortars and various types of firearms.
“At this moment, the situation is stable, and there are no gunfire incidents,” said Hamlet Apresyan, the head of the Askeran administrative region, in a conversation with Artsakhpress.
Addressing information circulated by certain Telegram channels about the enemy amassing military forces toward Kharamort, the head of the Askeran administration noted, “Certain movements have been observed at the front lines, but significant troop accumulations are not visible at this time. The Defense Army is, of course, monitoring the operational situation, taking precautionary measures, and will provide more detailed information as necessary.”
“Regarding the news of evacuations, no organized evacuation has been conducted; such reports are incorrect. Yes, some families have voluntarily taken their children temporarily out of the village, but residents are currently in their homes, and the village continues to live,” Apresyan stated, adding that additional measures have been implemented to ensure the safety of Kharamort’s population, including actions by the Russian peacekeeping forces, with all efforts directed towards peacefully resolving the issue.
