Moscow and Kyiv 'Halfway' on Ukraine's Demilitarization

The neutral status of Ukraine and its non-membership in NATO are the topics on which Moscow and Kyiv have brought their positions closer during negotiations. This was stated to reporters by Ukrainian presidential assistant Vladimir Medinsky.

Medinsky noted that there are nuances regarding Ukraine's security guarantees in these points.

"The nuances are related to what security guarantees Ukraine receives, in addition to the existing ones, if it refuses to join the NATO alliance," he clarified.

According to him, Moscow and Kyiv are "approximately halfway" in discussions regarding Ukraine's demilitarization.
