Papikyan Briefs Shoigu on Recent Developments in Askeran

On the evening of March 24, Armenian Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan had a telephone conversation with the Russian Minister of Defense, Army General Sergey Shoigu. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Armenia.

Suren Papikyan presented the recent developments in the Askeran region of the Republic of Artsakh, related to the violations of the line of contact by Azerbaijani armed forces and the resulting explosive situation. The Armenian Minister of Defense emphasized the necessity for Azerbaijani units to return to their original positions.

Sergey Shoigu assured that the situation is under the attention of the Russian side and necessary measures are being taken towards a peaceful resolution.
