I Regret My Actions: Tigran Arzakantsyan

The judge of the general jurisdiction court of Yerevan, Karen Farukhoyan, has found Tigran Arzakantsyan, who was nominated for deputy in the 2021 elections, guilty of using counterfeit documents and has imposed a fine of 350,000 AMD.

According to the charges, he presented a counterfeit certificate to the Passport and Visa Department of the Police of Armenia in the Davtashen administrative district of Yerevan, claiming he had studied at a Russian institute. With this document, Tigran Arzakantsyan was able to obtain a certificate stating that he had lived in Armenia for four years and submitted it to the Central Electoral Commission.

“I regret my actions; I do not wish to testify,” said Tigran Arzakantsyan, as reported by Tert.am.

It is noteworthy that the Central Electoral Commission had declared invalid the registration of Tigran Arzakantsyan, the candidate for Prime Minister from the Democratic Party of Armenia and a former member of the Republican faction, who had spent significant sums in pursuit of participating in these elections. His posters appeared in almost every corner of Armenia even before the elections were officially announced.
