800 Air Defense Systems and 9,000 Anti-Tank Complexes: Biden Allocates $1 Billion in Military Aid to Ukraine
The United States will provide $1 billion in defense aid to Ukraine this week, announced President Joe Biden.
“On Saturday, my administration ordered an additional $200 million to ensure the steady supply of weapons and defense needs to Ukraine. I am again using my presidential authority to allocate $800 million for additional defense systems to Ukraine. This week alone, the new security assistance from the U.S. will total $1 billion,” said Biden.
He clarified that the deliveries will include 800 air defense systems and 9,000 anti-tank complexes. Additionally, the military assistance will include 7,000 units of small arms, 20 million rounds of ammunition, and drones.
“I want to be honest with you, this could be a prolonged and difficult fight,” the U.S. president added.
