«Hет худа без добра». How Peskov Responded to Sanctions
The Russian authorities are attempting to use the difficulties arising from sanctions to their advantage, stated Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia, as reported by Ria Novosti.
“The Russian economy is facing difficulties, but any difficulty we experience is simultaneously an opportunity for development, renewal, achieving greater independence, and establishing new industries. We have a good saying: ‘нет худа без добра’ (there is no bad without good). We are trying to utilize the existing difficulties in our favor,” said the Kremlin spokesman.
Additionally, he disagrees with the statement made by White House press secretary Jen Psaki, who said the day before that the United States, along with its allies, has “completely crushed” the Russian economy through sanctions.
