NATO Secretary General Calls Putin's 'Nuclear Rhetoric' Irresponsible

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has described Russian President Vladimir Putin's statements regarding nuclear weapons as 'irresponsible'. He labeled Putin's nuclear rhetoric as 'dangerous' and 'irresponsible'. This information was reported in an article by Reuters quoting Stoltenberg in an interview.

However, it remains unclear what he specifically meant by 'nuclear rhetoric'. Earlier, Putin claimed that Ukraine possesses nuclear and missile capabilities dating back to the Soviet era and that they can prepare missiles with help from 'across the ocean', asserting that Russia's fate will be different from now on.

It is noteworthy that on the morning of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special military operation to demilitarize Ukraine. In his televised address, he stated that the circumstances 'demand decisive and immediate action from us, as the Donbas people's republics have appealed to Russia for help.' According to the Russian leader, all responsibility for the ensuing bloodshed will rest with the regime in Ukraine. He urged Ukrainian soldiers to ignore the criminal orders of the Ukrainian authorities, lay down their arms, and go home.
