Military Operations Anticipated Near Our Borders in the Near Future: Movses Hakobyan
“Military operations are expected in the near future along the borders of the Republic of Armenia and Artsakh. The directions will be in Syunik, Vardenis, Tavush, and possibly other areas,” said Movses Hakobyan, a military figure of Armenia and Artsakh, in an interview with the ‘Factinfo’ news outlet.
Recently, the situation in Artsakh has sharply escalated. Almost every day, the adversary is firing, also using mortars and exerting psychological pressure by calling through loudspeakers, demanding that residents leave their places of residence. Moreover, just the day before, during the late evening hours, a military provocation initiated by the enemy targeted a base of Russian peacekeepers serving in the area.
“By targeting the base of Russian peacekeepers serving on the ground, Azerbaijan aims to remove the Russian military contingent from there, pursuing the ultimate goal of ethnically cleansing Artsakh,” said the general.
When asked whether the Turkish side would officially join the anticipated upcoming military operations at the Armenian and Artsakh borders with its regular army, Movses Hakobyan stated he would not make predictions.
In response to the question of whether the Armenian Ministry of Defense and the army would be able to provide an adequate response to the enemy’s military provocations, considering the situation that the MoD's General Staff and military leadership have found themselves in, the General noted that he is not aware of the situation within the army as he is not currently serving.
